Monica Cox
Monica Cox lives in Madagascar with her husband, Doug, and two sons, Ben and Jeremiah. They are serving as missionaries of the ELCA Global Mission. Monica works with poor women through an organization called Manna for Madagascar. Manna provides income for women by selling their handcrafts in the United States.
Madagascar is one of the poorest countries in the world so many people go to bed hungry and many children cannot afford to go to school. Already Manna has helped over 250 families have access to food, education for the children, and health care. Monica hopes that Manna can help more Malagasy people through the sales of handcrafts in the United States so that children like Tahina in the story (The Little Lutheran, April 2007) will not have to be hungry or miss school.
